OUR NEXT NEXT CONFERENCE IS:

Saturday, October 3rd, 2015

at Otterbein University

The Opening Ceremony commences in:

Why should you MUN?

"Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues using the policies and perspectives of their assigned country" (bestdelegate.com).

  • Attending a Model UN conference affords students an opportunity to better understand the process through which global leaders work together to solve global issues.

  • Participating in a Model UN conference requires research and preparation.

  • Students will develop their ability to debate and negotiate while presenting solutions and resolutions from their assigned country's perspective.

  • Model UN experience is extremely valuable on a resume and can provide a step toward future careers.

At an OHSMUN Conference, participants can expect an atmosphere of learning where fun and networking are also highly encouraged.

Looking to attend your first Model UN Conference?

Ohio High School Model United Nations (OHSMUN) has just the Conference you have been looking for! We, the creators of OHSMUN, know how intimidating those large MUN conferences can be. We also understand the challenges that schools face stemming from a lack of time and funding. But hey, Model UN is an awesome experience that we believe all students should have available to them. So we put our heads together to offer a unique and accessible ONE DAY conference, geared toward students with little or no Model UN experience.

How is an OHSMUN Conference different?

We're glad you asked!

  1. Our Conference is affordable. No surprise costs, lunch and a delegate handbook are included, and no hotel stays necessary.

  2. All of the action takes place in one day. Hotels are expensive and your time is valuable. Minimize the cost and maximize the action included in your Model UN experience by attending our 1 day long conference.

  3. We're here to help, every step of the way. Questions about registration? Visit the CONTACT US page and submit a contact form. Include a phone number and we will call you within 24 hours. Need help learning the rules of procedure or understanding what conference day will look like? We will send a representative to your school to assist your group! Again, complete the contact form and we will be in touch. Need help getting started with your research? Be sure to check out the RESOURCES page for background guides, templates, and links to other useful information. Whatever you need, we'll be there!
